For 2014 Honda made some changes for USA models. They offered 2 different models.
2014 Standard
Very similar to the 2013 model the USA got, with the following exceptions. The bike comes in black only, with black color matched side covers, black lower fork legs, black passenger grab rails, black wheels, black engine cases, black passenger foot peg brackets, black springs on rear shocks, black triple trees, a 6 speed transmission (vs the 13's 5 speed) and a new gauge cluster with a digital gear indicator, fuel computer and 120 mph limit with a black face. NO ABS option on the standard for 2014 (note picture says European ABS model shown but this is what the US 2014 Standard looks like)
2014 gauge cluster shared by both the 2014 Standard and Deluxe...black face for standard, green face for the Deluxe
2014 Deluxe
For 2014 the US got a Deluxe version of the CB1100. There were close to 30 changes made to the 14 Deluxe which differentiates it from the 2013 model the USA got. Those changes include:
1 Silver motor
2 Silver wheels
3 4 into 2 exhaust
4 Chrome waterfall head pipes vs snaky stainless head pipes
5 ABS standard
6 Taller, patterned seat vs plain
7 Polished master cylinder covers for clutch and front brake vs black
8 Chrome bar ends vs black
9 Polished top triple tree vs painted
10 Headlight raised an inch
11 Horns raised an inch
12 Smaller turn signals
13 Front sprocket cover now aluminum instead of plastic
14 Color matched side covers instead of silver
15 Side covers wrap around frame
16 4.6 fuel tank vs 3.9
17 New speedo limited to 120 mph
18 New instruments have different patterned faces
19 Digital gear indicator
20 Fuel computer that tells fuel used, ave mpg, fuel remaining
21 Passenger grab rails on a different angle to follow contour of new seat
22 Passenger grab rails polished
23 New left hand switch assy to match other 2014 Hondas
24 Front forks take different amounts of oil in each leg (for some reason but its new for 2014)
25 Rear axle size reduced (lower torque required for some reason but it's new for 14)
26 570 lbs wet dlx vs 540 lbs wet std ( due to ABS, larger fuel tank, 7/10 gallon more fuel, aluminum vs plastic sprocket cover, and extra exhaust pipe = 30 pounds)
27 6 speed transmission
28 Handlebars ½” higher with relocated pin holes for new switches
29 Red paint on tank and side covers is a deeper shade of red vs the 13s. Honda calls the '13 model Candy Glory red and the '14 model Candy Alazarin Red.
* In other countries this bike is called the CB1100EX only it comes with spoke wheels in lieu of the cast wheels, and of course a speedometer marked in KPH instead of mph
