Dimensioned Parts specs resource?
Forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask this, but i figured if anybody knows....

Would you kindly direct to a dimensioned OEM parts spec resource? specifically, I'm looking for the exact dimensions and specifications of the OEM gas tank on the '14 model. I need to pass it off to somebody who's making a doodad for me and can't get to my bike in person to measure.

I’ve never seen anything like that and its not in the service manual. Would be nice to have some engineering drawings, but I haven't seen any.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it!

Here is a sketch: http://www.2wheelpros.com/oem-parts/2014...-MGC-N40ZC

With a ruler and caliper, you can add critical dimensions.

thanks for the input folks. i was seeking this out because there's a guy making some custom leather bags for me in another country, and i figured it'd be safer to send him some sort of official dimensioned diagram of the tank. Looks like it's gonna come down to me and my lucky tape measure.

Sorry to not be of more help. Typically, Honda provides no data, not even thread size/pitch for fasteners.

As an example of how little info is available from Honda, when researching price and availability for a stock Honda 15410-MFJ-D01 oil filter, I have not found any specifications/dimensions.

Whereas after market oil filters, such as the K&N 204*, have abundant info:

Anti Drain Back Valve Yes
Bypass Valve Yes
Filter Material High Flow Premium Media
Gasket Material Nitrile Rubber
Height 2.813 in (71 mm)
Outside Diameter 2.594 in (66 mm)
PSI Relief Valve Yes
Thread Specification M20 x 1.5
Product Style Oil Filters
Weight 0.5 lb (0.2 kg)
Removal Nut Size 17 mm

*Not recommended, due to recent nut spot weld issues.
