RE: Low resale value
I do not see a 2018 CB1100 on Honda's US website, so I assume you are referring to international sales.

If that is the case, then Honda did NOT stop production on the CB1100 since 2010; they simply stopped importing them in the US.

RE: Low resale value
Honda has, as far as I know, produced the CB1100 every year since 2010. The 2010-2013 STD models were the same bike with colour variations. The 2014 STD got an extra gear and equipment and there was of course the DLX/EX. Both these bikes were produced and sold in 2015-16. Just not in the US. The CB1100 continues to be offered in Europe, Japan, Canada and who knows where else in 2018.

As far as I can figure out, while the engine has stayed pretty much the same, there have been 7 variants on this bike:
  • 2010-2013 standards
  • 2014-2016 standards
  • 2014 DLX
  • 2014-2016 EX
  • 2017- Standard (you can still get a twin exhaust standard in Japan)
  • 2017- EX
  • 2017- RS
