You can order Honda rack from your Honda dealer (or at least you can in the US). I have one and it looks pretty darn good on the bike, IMO. I had every intention of removing it when not in use to keep the original look of the bike and that would be easy enough to do, but I like the look of it on, as it turns out. I assume that the Givi Box would be the backrest, though, because the Honda rack does not come with a backrest.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Looks like this is friendly group. I am new to forums as well so I'll try to educate myself quickly on proper protocol and etiquette.

Thanks for the advice on the top bad rack options.

If I want to ask a question do I simply start a new thread in a section the seems appropriate?

Also nice to see that a few members are close to home.

Thanks again for the warm welcome.

Hi Marc, welcome to the forum and congratulations.

Yes, just start a new thread by asking questions if the ‘search’ button fails you. There are a lot of good folks here willing to help...enjoy your new bike!

Hello from the shadow of the mighty Rockies!
I have the OEM rear carrier on my 2016, very well built piece of equipment, got it from my Canadian Honda dealer when I was buying the bike, for about 2/3 of the list. (In addition to it's near-perfect functionality, I find it actually adds to the looks of the bike - makes it look like a serious piece of machinery, instead of just a toy Smile

G’day Marc and welcome to the forum. What happens here is that people either do or pretend to use the search button, fail and then ask the question. Popgun or the Ferret then demonstrate their phenomenal capacity with search by posting lots of links to the answer to the question you asked.

Thanks for all the advice. Based on your suggestions, I have decided to purchase a Honda rear rack and a GIVI top box mounting hardware kit. I will fabricate a removable mount plate so that just the rack remains when the box is not in use. I think the Honda rack does look nice.

Thanks again.

Here is a picture as requested. Just waiting for the snow to melt.

I took me a while to figure out how to post a picture.

İmage
