Good deal Sea. You just need to learn to keep the baby finger of your left hand away from the lens when shooting.

Thinking of cutting it off. Sacrifices for one's art, etc.

ANYhoo... ticking of Resolution #5 was a prerequisite to keeping Resolution #6. #1 is still being kept, #2 and #3 are in the planning stages and both should be kept by the end of June. I think that #4 (12,000 miles in 2018) will be a carrot for me until about October when it will change to a stick.

btw. Not it is not the same, but if you'd like to discuss the differences, let's do so in another thread or in PM.

If I am to continue riding int the cold, I will need heated gear--heated grips are just not cutting it for my old fingers at these temps. All in all, though, it felt good to get out and I now have (a measly) 12 consecutive months with at least one ride.

A few pics from the short, chilly ride.

The above post is from February, 2015.

As of 02/01/2018, I have 48 consecutive months in which I rode at least once. Resolution #1 kept once again.

RE: 2018 Motorcycling Resolutions
Unless I get motivated to put a few more miles on my CB1100 this evening, which is unlikely given the heat and humidity, I have reached the halfway point of the riding year.

Here's where I stand:

(12-23-2017 08:38 PM)EmptySea Wrote:  I was able to achieve my 2017 goals without much fuss. I have set the bar a little higher for myself this year. #2 and #4 will likely be the most difficult resolutions to keep.

1. To ride at least once per month to continue my streak (currently at 46 months, but with a little luck, it'll be 47 on 1/1)
Resolution kept thus far: 52 months and counting
2. To earn a second Iron Butt certificate, possibly by riding from Chicago to either Colorado or Texas.
Resolution in jeopardy: I thought I'd have this one locked up by now, but it's actually looking problematic. I may try to blast out another SS1000 in September or October, but the conditions have to be perfect.
3. To attend the 2018 CB1100 rally in either Kentucky or West Virginia
Resolution kept: Had a wonderful time with wonderful people
4. To ride 12,000 miles (2017 yielded a tick over 10,000 miles)
Resolution kept? I'm at 4500 miles for 2018. That is sort of target by 1500 miles, but there are more good riding days south of June than north of it, so I'm not worried - yet.
5. To obtain a decent 'lanyard' camera.
Resolution kept.
6. To take more ride photos and to write more ride reports.
Resolution mostly kept. I'm lacking some ride reports, but more will be coming.
7. To complete the Tour of Honor ride within my state. Just registered for the tour which starts in April.
Resolution kept thus far: I have visited 2 of 7 in Illinois, 1 each in Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio. Will be adding more as the summer progresses.

How close are you to meeting your resolutions?
