Roger that. If Colorado was on the list I would have voted that.

Frying Pan River Road on a CB1100? Heaven!
I would go up and down that puppy all day long.

RE: 2018 Forum Rally Poll
The Appalachians have the advantage being a mountainous area with of a lot of roads. I voted North Central WV because I've never ridden that area and ferret has classified intelligence regarding good roads there.

morewood's suggestion of Two Wheels of Suches is a good one; North Georgia and Six Gaps is incredible.

Any western locale would be a fly-n-rent for me due to time constraints.

To make the ride to the target location more fun, regional meet-ups of riding partners is a great enhancement - like Sea and ferret did in St. Louis.

I've ridden coast to coast (not on a CB) with several guys. We always comment WV has some of the best curvy roads, views and mountainous scenery to ride through. Right across the state line you can also pick up the Blue Ridge Parkway or Skyline Drive.

I would agree with Morewood... but anywhere in N Georgia, The Carolinas, Virginia,
E Tennessee... literally any of the South East would work for me. My sojerns to
outside of the country are over for a while, so I plan on making a better effort to
do the next rally as long as the timing works. I really enjoyed the first one. I just voted 'other'.

RE: 2018 Forum Rally Poll
We do not have enough active members to draw any conclusions about past attendance at various rally locales. However, when we set the Arkansas rally, it was in my mind at least, set to accommodate riders from the Midwest, but also Texas, Colorado, and other states in the west. Only a few from those states signed up and those that did wound up having to back out.

I mention this because Arkansas was an excellent place to ride, but does not seem to be of great appeal to the riders for whom a trip east would be too long. I voted WV, but Ohio and KY would be fabulous locations and I think would still attract riders from the NE and SE

RE: 2018 Forum Rally Poll
as i mentioned i went to an st1300 meet and they do them all over the country
i know we have less bikes out there but how bout like 6 i dont mind traveling but i think turnout for a bike this size would be better if guys didnt ride so far
for instance Wisconsin would attract Minnesota Chicago likely iowa maybe Michigan
you may get more guys out to more rides if there are more meetups spread out across the country
i would have loved to go and see you guys but i run a service center and getting away for a week is pretty hard

RE: 2018 Forum Rally Poll
I am planning to plan (if that makes sense) a rally in Wisconsin. I do not want it to conflict with a larger rally and I don't think it will attract enough riders to be that "official" rally which could draw 15+ riders, so I will refrain from proposing such an event pending final information on what is decided in this thread.

RE: 2018 Forum Rally Poll
Having looked at the pics of the 2017 rally, made me want to be there!
I know it's a bit early but was wondering if you have any dates in mind yet (I'm not as lucky as a lot of you to be retired yet, so have to fit it in with work roster!!) as I would love to attend. Also does anyone know of places on the east coast that hire CB1100's?

Cheers
